Questa foto della galassia M31 in Andromeda con le galassie satelliti M32 e M110 è stata realizzata il 29 e 30 agosto 2008 dal Monte Amiata (GR) al fuoco diretto di un telescopio Takahashi FS60C a f/6 su montatura Gemini G41 obs e controller FS2. E' la somma di 30 foto da 600 secondi l'una con sensibilità a 800 ISO con una Canon EOS 40D non modificata, con autoguida SBIG ST-4 e  rifrattore 102/500 in parallelo. Successivamente i frames sono stati sommati con Deep Sky Stacker e Registar, e processate con Photoshop, separatamente le galassie e le stelle, mediante applicazione di uno stretching, maschera sfocata e bilanciamento dei colori. Poi sono state riunite le immagini insieme. This photo of the M31 galaxy in Andromeda, with its neighbours M32 and M110 was taken on august 29 and 30, 2008 from the Amiata mount, in Italy, near Grosseto, at the prime focus of a Takahashi FS60C telescope at f/6 using a Gemini G41 obs mount with a Fs2 controller. I took 30 frames of 10 minutes each using a Canon Eos 40D Digital unmodified camera at 800 ISO and they were taken with a SBIG ST-4 autoguide on a small refractor 102/500. Then I summed the frames with Deep Sky Stacker and Registar, divide the stars from the galaxies, and processed the files in Photoshop with a stretching, an unsharp mask and, last, a color balance. At last I joined the pics together.
